Shilajit

мумие

Shilajit – “mountain balsam”, a biologically active product of natural and organic origin. This dark brown or black resin-like substrate is found in rock crevices, cavern walls, and grottoes. Purified from impurities and extracted shilajit is a homogeneous mass of elastic consistency like wax. Has a specific smell reminiscent of oil and a bitter taste. Interestingly, shilajit is almost completely soluble in water, but not in alcohol.

The history of using shilajit as a healing agent goes back more than three thousand years. Since ancient times, it has been widely used in medicine in Afghanistan, India, Iran, China, Central Asia and Tibet. Avicenna, Aristotle, Biruni and Razi wrote about the medicinal properties of “mountain resin” in their works.

Shilajit in its composition has organic and inorganic parts, contains forms of macro- and microelements potassium, phosphorus, calcium, iron, etc., as well as organic acids (glutamic, glycine, petroselinic, etc.). It has an anti-inflammatory, bactericidal effect, improves metabolism in the body, accelerates tissue regeneration (including bone tissue), stimulates hematopoiesis and prevents the formation of blood clots.
