Plantain

Plantain is one of ancient plants, ancient Greece and Rome doctors knew about its healing properties and in the Middle Ages it was popular among Persian and Arab physicians.

Plantain belongs Plantaginaceae family. It is a perennial herb with rosette of short-elliptic, or nearly sessile pubescents lightly to other leaves pressed to the ground. In florescence is oblong-cylindrical thick spike. Seeds are flat on one side. The height of it is 30-50 cm.

Plantain has an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, wound – healing, “blood-cleansing”, expectorant properties, it improves metabolism and enhances stomach secretor activity.
