Hypericum

Hypericum is a perennial plant of hypericaceae family. It is up to one meter height. The plant has branched rhizome. Its stem is dihedral, thick. The flowers are small, single or multiple of bright yellow (golden) color, have pleasant smell, collected in paniculate, corymbose inflorescences.

Hypericum contains ether oil, flavonoids (rutin, quercitrin, hyperoside) resins, tannins, hypericin, ether oils, nicotine and ascorbic acid, vitamin P and PP, choline, saponins and other compounds.

Grass plant has: hemostatic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, wound – healing, anthelmintic, diuretic and choleretic action. Hypericum is used in gastro intestinal tract, liver, gall bladder, kidney and bladder diseases. The plant stimulates appetite, facilitates tissues regeneration (recovery), sedative effecting nervous system.
